You CAN use a wheel already, this however will not add Manual Transmission to the game. It takes some struggle depending on what wheel you have, Logitech wheels are a true PAIN to set up but it is possible to use them via the program x360ce. It just simulates a virtual Xbox 360 controller, you can map the steering axis to the left stick's x axis and pedals to the triggers however you will need to tinker with dead-zones.
